The politics of healthy choice Q: I subscribed to your newsletter to find out how to treat myself without prescription drugs, so I was surprised to see so many articles dealing with politics. I'm not sure I see the connection between natural remedies and what goes on in Washington D.C. JVW: While helping people to care for themselves using natural and nutritional therapies is always my primary goal, I am also very dedicated to fighting for every citizen's rights to choose these treatments. And unfortunately, many people don't realize that some enormous health care advances made generations ago, and many that are still being made today, aren't available because our freedom (in this case, freedom of choice in health care) is still very limited in these United States. And, even worse, that freedom of choice continues to be in jeopardy, thanks to numerous regulatory agencies run by los Federales, who have more of an interest in the profit potential associated with human health than with human health itself. If these agencies succeed in limiting or completely usurping our freedom of choice, we'll never have the best in health care -- or any other field, for that matter. What is...sea salt? Sea salt is the salt that forms from evaporated seawater.
